SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -After three years of work, the Missouri River Boat Club, held the grand opening of its clubhouse and bar called, “Bent Prop.”As part of the grand opening festivities Saturday, the club had prize drawings every hour that started at 10a.m. and continued until 2a.m.The club also held a steak fundraiser where members of the public could buy steaks to help raise funds to pay for the clubhouse.Fleet Captain of the Missouri River Boat Club, Dennis Butler, said Saturday was a huge step in the right direction for the future of the Missouri River Boat Club.”To me it’s a dream come true, I’ve been here 46 years I’m the oldest member out here in longevity of the club and we’ve seen a lot of changes we’ve gone from 62 docks to 28 docks with the new place here, hopefully we can build some more docks, and keep adding docks,” said Butler. The $500,000 project began back in April and was completed in October. Although it’s not boating weather, opening the bar and clubhouse now leaders said can start bringing in revenue to pay the loan off.Copyright 2023 KTIV. All rights reserved.
