Nadal reveals childhood soccer passion in Instagram tribute ahead of Spain final

Rafael Nadal is a huge, passionate soccer fan and this love has been going on since his childhood.  The Spaniard was an extremely talented soccer player in his youth, but in the end he chose tennis. His soccer passion is reflected in several important aspects.  Although his own uncle Miguel Ángel Nadal is a legend of FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team, Rafa chose a different path when it comes to club sympathies from an early age. He is a big fan of Real Madrid and is often seen in the box of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, watching live matches of his favorite club. Real Madrid gave him a great recognition by naming him an honorary member (socio de honor), which is one of the biggest awards the club gives to its most loyal fans.
