As Neurotech Pharmaceuticals looks to ramp up the launch of its first-ever commercial product, the biopharma is running a new video series to help boost awareness. The new “Uncovering MacTel” YouTube channel is an educational campaign for people with macular telangiectasia type 2, or MacTel, a vision-robbing neurodegenerative retinal disease. In March 2025, the FDA approved Neurotech’s Encelto for adults with idiopathic MacTel type 2, with the first commercial use coming several months later. MacTel type 2, which primarily occurs in middle-aged adults, can lead to a gradual loss of central vision. The disease affects both eyes, though not always with the same severity. The new YouTube channel launches with 16 short videos that zero in on the experiences of four MacTel patients, including their path to diagnosis and early symptoms.
