New residential development proposed for Strathmore – StrathmoreNow.com

As the school year gets underway, Strathmore Town Council will return to its regular schedule with two public hearings planned for its first September meeting. The hearings on Bylaw No. 26-11 and Bylaw No. 26-14 are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m. and 6:05 p.m., respectively. The first hearing will focus on proposed amendments to the Prairies Area Structure Plan Bylaw No. 11-08. According to the Town of Strathmore, the proposed amendment would support the development of a residential community on lands north of the Trans-Canada Highway and east of George Freeman Trail. The proposed community would consist of attached residential units centred around a central clubhouse amenity. The amendment would also facilitate neighbourhood commercial uses on a 3.74-acre parcel in the southwest portion of the site. A stormwater management pond with an approximate area of 2.95 acres is also proposed within the southwest portion of Neighbourhood Node D.
