Orange County man charged in Ulster County with raping teen – Daily Freeman

SHAWANGUNK, N.Y. — A Washingtonville man is charged with raping a 14-year-old girl he met on Snapchat, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. Marco J. Rivera, age not available, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 21, after detectives received information in June from village of Walden police regarding Rivera’s alleged activities. He was charged with rape, a felony, and with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. In a press release, police said Rivera met the girl on the social media platform Snapchat and later met with her on more than one occasion and engaged in sexual intercourse with her. He was arraigned in Shawangunk Town Court and released with tickets for a future court date, the Sheriff’s Office said.
