PENSACOLA, Fla. — The city of Pensacola is getting some national recognition. The city came in at No. 25 on LinkedIn’s “cities on the rise” list. It follows other mid-sized cities, like Portland and Nashville. The report says Pensacola is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the nation. Professionals in many different career fields are flocking to the city. Analyzing date from users, LinkedIn ranked American cities with significant increases in hiring, job creation and talent migration in the past few years. Will Wirth is the marketing and communications director of the Better Business Bureau serving Northwest Florida. He says there are many reasons why Pensacola has become such a hotspot for professionals. According to him, it all started with COVID. “We were considered more work-friendly during and after the pandemic than other states,” Wirth said. He says professionals from all over flocked to Florida to look for work.
