The first phase of Vernon’s Silver Star Gateway business park is fully leased, and work is underway on Phase 2. The massive project across the road from Skyride Cycle and Butcher Boys on Silver Star Road is being constructed in three phases. Jason Wills with Venture Commercial says there are going to be two buildings in the second phase of the development, providing more than 50,000 square feet of service commercial-industrial space. A significant portion of the new buildings has already been leased even though completion is still months away. Wills says some of space was leased before the ground was even broken. “There is an overflow of industrial inventory, especially from Kelowna. People are looking to Vernon as a new market and there really isn’t a lot of small industrial options available,” Wills said. Wills says Phase 2 is also offering a drive-thru pad along Silver Star Road that can accommodate a variety of potential tenants. Silver Star Gateway Business Park is a master planned industrial and commercial development. The five-building project on nine acres provides more than 115,000 square feet of leasing opportunities.…
