Police seize more than 51 pounds of marijuana after Instagram sales post probe – WCTI

Photo: Greenville Police Department According to the Greenville Police Department, officers began investigating an Instagram account on July 29 that allegedly advertised 8 to 10 pounds of marijuana for sale. Investigators said they linked the account to Christopher Bennett, 31. Officers later located Bennett and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, police said they smelled marijuana and found Bennett in possession of 3.5 grams of marijuana. Police then obtained a search warrant for a residence connected to Bennett. During the search, officers found three large bags of marijuana, each about 3 1/2 feet tall, with a combined weight of more than 51 pounds, according to the department. Bennett was arrested on July 29 and charged with trafficking in marijuana. According to arrest warrants, he is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
