Both theater chains are bringing back their annual summer programs in June. This summer, Regal Cinemas and Cinemark are each running discounted movie programs aimed squarely at families looking to fill a Tuesday morning or a slow Wednesday without spending much. Both programs launch June 1 and run through early August, offering tickets well below the standard price at participating locations nationwide. The timing makes sense. Summer is traditionally one of the strongest periods for theatrical attendance, and both chains have used these annual promotions for years to drive foot traffic during morning hours that would otherwise go quiet. For families with kids out of school, the math is straightforward. What Cinemark is offering Cinemark’s Summer Movie Clubhouse returns this year with tickets priced at $1.75 plus tax per person. The program runs from June 1 through August 6 at more than 285 participating theaters across the country. Films are shown on Wednesday mornings, with select locations adding screenings on Mondays and Thursdays as well. Tickets went on sale May 13 and are available through Cinemark.com, the Cinemark app, and at participating box offices.
