Rob’s Album of The Week: I’m With Her’s Wild and Clear and Blue | Culture Beat | Medium – Medium

Sarah Jarosz, Sara Watkins and Aoife O’Donovan are each fantastic songwriters in their own right, but when they get together, something special happens. They have a harmonious way of melding their talents to create an excellent array of bluegrass and folk driven tunes under the name I’m With Her, which they originally started back in 2014. The catalyst for this project was via a collaborative workshop they took part in at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado, with their debut album See You Around being released in 2018 via Rounder Records. On May 9, the trio released their follow-up Wild and Clear and Blue via the same label. There’s no sophomore slump with this record as the joining and alternation of vocals sets the tone while the instrumentation coalesces in seamless fashion. Jarosz, Watkins and O’Donovan worked with Josh Kaufman from Bonny Light Horseman on the full-length at both The Outlier Inn in New York’s Catskills region and The Clubhouse in the town of Rhinebeck.
