SAN JOSE, Calif. – Santa Clara women’s tennis newcomer Madhu Satishbabu picked up her first doubles win as a Bronco on the first day at the San Jose State Hidden Dual on Friday. Satishbabu paired up with Juliette Krumholz to defeat Kaia Wolfe and Vivian Gallaway of UC Davis 6-3. HOW IT HAPPENED: The hidden dual format includes singles against one team and doubles against a different team each day during the three day tournament. The teams will lineup and play similar to a team dual match like in the spring season but there is no team scoring, only individual wins and losses. On Friday, Santa Clara played singles against Nevada and faced the doubles teams from UC Davis. The lone win of the day came from Satishbabu and Krumholz in their doubles match. It was their third match while paired together this fall. In singles, Satishbabu had the only three-set match, falling to Silvia-Maria Costach 6-2, 5-7, 6-0.
