It’s handy for keeping memories or plans, but as a long-time user, I’m skeptical about the privacy risks and why Snapchat has added this feature now.  What Infinite Retention Really Changes Snapchat built its name on fleeting messages that disappear after viewing or within 24 hours. The infinite retention feature upends this, letting you save chat history forever. You enable it by selecting Never through Chat and Notification settings under Retention Options, and all participants get a notification with the option to opt out.
