MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) – A reported Snapchat threat directed at Schmucker Middle School has been determined to be a hoax, according to Penn-Harris-Madison school officials. Schmucker Principal Sarah P. Smith said in a letter sent to families that officials identified the individual responsible and additional students involved. She said the school will follow the student handbook when addressing consequences related to the incident. Extra law enforcement officers were brought to campus on Wednesday out of precaution. Officials said they took the extra measures to keep students and staff safe. P-H-M Schools utilizes the Safe School Helpline as a confidential way to report student concerns.
