Snowboarder has advice for others after getting caught in a tree well at Vernon's SilverStar Mountain

Dave Sheridan Pimson is sharing his experience of falling into a tree well while skiing in the hopes of helping others who may find themselves in a similar situation. Pimson posted on the Silver Star Community Facebook page after “the recent post about the tree well inspired me to share this from January 2020.” Pimson said he was in-bounds at SilverStar Mountain Resort in the Attridge area when he caught a back edge on his snowboard and was instantly in tree well. At six-feet tall and 175 pounds, Pimson said he struggled to get out of the hole. He posted of his experience the same day. “Backwards, upside down, suffocating, in full panic. Tree-well training really saved me. Every time I tried to move I sunk deeper. Fully dark, not clear which way was up. After panic screaming in my brain for a while I slowly moved my arms close enough to my body to build a little cocoon.
