Soccer’s Ellie Hendrix Named America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete of the Week

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State soccer junior forward Ellie Hendrix has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Aug. 30. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel. With their sponsorship of the student-athlete of the week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships. Hendrix, a native of St. George, Utah, helped Utah State to a 2-0 week with a 1-0 win at Utah Valley on Monday and a 1-0 win at Utah on Thursday. Against the Wolverines, Hendrix scored the game-winning goal, a 35th minute strike. She played 55 minutes and took two shots, both of which were on frame. Against the Utes, she also scored the game-winning goal, scoring in the 76th minute. She played 54 minutes and took one shot. On the week, Hendrix totaled two goals, three shots with three shots on goal in 109 total minutes.  UP NEXT Utah State (3-1-1, 0-0-0 Pac-12) returns home this week as it hosts Utah Tech on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Chuck & Gloria Bell.
