Suleymaan Ar’raa-ee met the girl on Snapchat, before meeting up with her in person on several occasions in the summer of 2018. After asking the young girl to go for a walk, he then persuaded her to have sex with him, before severing contact. Ar’raa-ee was 17 at the time of the offences, but was only sentenced this week. Ar’raa-ee, now 19, appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday to be sentenced for two counts of sexual activity with a child. David Bradshaw, prosecuting, said the girl was considered “vulnerable” and would frequently “go missing” from home so social services had become involved.
