SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men’s basketball team announced on Friday another addition to the 2026-27 roster, as transfer guard Preston Turner is set to join the Roadrunners heading into the third season under head coach Austin Claunch. Turner marks the fifth spring signing announced by the Roadrunners. “Preston is a versatile guard who brings size, toughness and shot-making ability to our program,” Claunch said. “He’s proven he can stretch the floor at a high level, shooting nearly 45 percent from three, while also giving us length and versatility on the perimeter. We’re excited about the experience, confidence and competitive edge he brings to UTSA basketball.” Coming in at 6-foot-6 and 190 pounds, Turner played last season at Eastern Illinois in his redshirt junior season. He appeared in 31 games with nine starts, averaging 7.7 points in 20.9 minutes with 12 double-figure scoring performances, shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 44.8 percent from the perimeter and 81.5 percent at the free throw line. He led the Panthers with 43 triples (1.4 per game), adding 1.7 rpg, 27 assists and 25 steals.
