Twitch partners can now stream on YouTube and Facebook – Hypertext – Htxt

For content creators, the choice of platform has proved crucial, with the move of bigger names to rival offerings generating many headlines, but that could soon be a thing of the past. This as Twitch has confirmed that partnered creators will be able to stream on other platforms, with the only real proviso being that they cannot stream on Twitch and another platform simultaneously. On this point, Twitch is only focusing on similar platforms that facilitate longer streaming sessions, like YouTube and Facebook Live. The Amazon-owned service did, however, note that simulcasts on Twitch and a platform like TikTok or Instagram Live, would be permitted. “We do not allow simulcasting on web-based, Twitch-like services that support streaming for extended periods of time, such as YouTube and Facebook, because we believe engaging with two streams at once can lead to a sub-optimal experience for your community. However, we know many of you want to use other services to grow your community, so simulcasting on short form, mobile services, such as TikTok or Instagram Live, is allowed,” an updated FAQ page clarifies.
