Home State Team Udayavani, May 16, 2025, 8:54 PM IST Representative image Udupi: A 55-year-old man in Udupi has lost over Rs 2.3 crore in just one month after falling for a fake investment scam promising high returns in the stock market. The victim, Jayaananda, was added to a WhatsApp group named ‘The Wealth Architects’ on March 20. The group lured him with claims of big profits through stock market investments via a platform called ‘KOPERNIK DMAT’. Believing the claims, Jayaananda transferred a total of Rs 2,30,65,000 to several bank accounts between April 1 and May 13, as instructed by the scammers. However, he received neither returns nor access to the invested funds. A complaint has been registered at the CEN police station, and investigations are underway. Udayavani is now on Telegram.
