Vandals destroy Roseville nonprofit clubhouse for victims of bullying – Macomb Daily

Organizers of a nonprofit clubhouse in Roseville for children to escape the stress of bullying vow to rebuild after vandals wrecked the place this week. Owner and founder Rob Durham, who opened Juggernauts Kids Foundation this past February, found the interior of the clubhouse badly damaged Wednesday evening. He paid for the approximate $80,000 initial renovation and contents of the building on his own. “Our foundation building was vandalized ruining everything that had been put in place to benefit kids of the community,” Ashley Thibeault, Rob’s wife, said in a statement. Thibeault said the foundation offers mentors, counselors, computer access for school work and fun activities “to give kids an outlet to just be a kid.” According to police, the vandals somehow gained access to the building on Utica Road, just south of 13 Mile Road, They defaced the interior by spray painting graffiti on the wall, shattering TV screens and computer screens, destroyed a toilet, and stole some gaming consoles. Police Chief Mitchell Berlin said detectives are actively investigating the incident.
