Westmoreland County man charged with assaulting local minor he met on Snapchat: PSP

The investigation began following a missing child report in Somerset County. Troopers were alerted on Dec. 18 when the girl was reported missing from a home in Summit Township. Authorities determined that the girl had been picked up overnight by a 34-year-old man she had connected with through Snapchat. They say she was later found at the man’s residence in Derry Township, where she reported being sexually assaulted. State police identified the suspect as Eric Ferrenberg, who has been taken into custody. Ferrenberg is currently being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on charges related to statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors.
