WhatsApp has rolled out the second phase of its initiative aimed at making digital communication more inclusive for communities with limited access to text-based messaging, deepening its focus on rural India. The campaign addresses barriers faced by users who have not fully adopted texting by positioning Voice Notes and Video Notes as intuitive alternatives to casual text messages and even traditional calling. Building on WhatsApp’s core belief of bringing people closer together by enabling them to share their real selves in safe and private spaces, the latest phase extends beyond the short film Baatan Hi Baatan Mein. Conceptualised and designed by Fundamental, and executed on ground by TriOOH, Superlative Films and Spark Foundry, the campaign deploys hyper-local, highly contextual formats to reach regional audiences in ways that feel familiar, relevant and easy to adopt.
