LinkedIn is preparing to launch a new virtual event platform for both audio and video in order to entice users to spend more time on its professional social network. The company’s new events platform, according to TechCrunch, will let creators and organizations list, host, and market interactive virtual events. With the launch of its Events hub in 2019, LinkedIn started looking into events before the pandemic even started. However, as more people began working from home, the company added online polls and video events to provide access to events to remote workers. LinkedIn’s new virtual events platform, however, will launch in beta this month with an audio-only product similar to Clubhouse, followed by a video version in the spring.
