Woodland teen facing felony robbery charges

Clayton Brown, 19, of Woodland, who is accused of robbery, waived his right to a preliminary hearing yesterday at Centralized Court.According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 19, 2020 Lawrence Township Police responded to an assault in progress at Bud George Road cul-de-sac located in the Industrial Park area.The caller reported she had dropped off a friend at the turnaround and the friend was “jumped” by multiple people.The caller had fled the scene and called for help at the BP station.Additional police were called for assistance.Police arrived on scene and found the victim alone at the cul-de-sac, laying on the right side of the road. He was injured, wet, dirty and missing his shoes. When he got to his feet, he was limping.Police called for an ambulance.The victim said he was jumped by a large group of people who had been lying in wait for him.He said he came to meet a friend when a large group of people came from the dark side of the road and started hitting him.He said he was knocked to the ground and he was hit numerous times.
