Christopher Horwood This delightful London townhouse by designer Stella Weatherall was on the cover of our February issue but it’s this room (which didn’t feature in print) that has really got everyone going on Instagram. We can certainly see why – it’s packed with colour and pattern but in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming. It’s pretty, but anchored by some strong shapes and simple patterns. In short, it’s a perfectly balanced space and one with plenty of ideas to steal. Although you might initially look at this room and think ‘colourful’, or indeed ‘pink’, it actually has a neutral backdrop (the wonderfully useful ‘Stone II’ by Paint & Paper Library, against which healthy dollops of pink stand out, most notably in the striking artwork by Emma Gale to the right of the chimneypiece. These pops of pink in turn are grounded by more understated hints of blue. The fact that several of the patterns are stripes helps everything to feel relatively calm and disciplined.
