YouTube exec says NFL Sunday Ticket partnership 'exceeding expectations'

YouTube Chief Business Officer Mary Ellen Coe said the feedback the company has received from NFL Sunday Ticket coming to YouTubeTV is “exceeding our expectations,” according to Dade Hayes of DEADLINE. Coe said the product has been described with “reliability [and] low latency” and Multiview “has been the biggest hit ever.” Coe added YouTube feels “great about the subscriber trajectory” along with having the opportunity to partner with “third-party partners like Verizon, Comcast and FanDuel.” She said those points have made the company feel “really bullish about how it’s trending.” When asked about subscribers requests to be able to “select the games in Multiview themselves instead of YouTube picking them,” Coe said that is a “very hard thing to do technically.” But she added YouTube “hear[s] you loud and clear” on the feedback and the company “will be looking to innovate in the future” due to the seven-year relationship. Coe added YouTubeTV’s growth as a whole is “robust” and they attribute that to the NFL partnership. But Coe also said it was “really important” to the company that YouTubeTV “integrate with creators,” which is a “big feature to every weekend” (DEADLINE, 9/28).
