An Australian family stranded in the desert shared an ominous post on social media just days before their trip of a lifetime took a terrifying turn.Friends of a family stranded in one of Australia’s largest deserts have taken to social media to wish for their safe return.Orios Zavros, his wife and children were travelling across the country on the trip of a lifetime when they found themselves stranded in South Australia’s Simpson Desert a few days ago when their campervan became bogged after heavy rain.The shocking turn of the events came just days after the family shared a post to their Instagram account declaring they had made it to Birdsville in Queensland.“Bring on the Simpson Desert,” they wrote, alongside a picture of their van.There are now fears the family could be trapped for several more days due to bad weather.The travellers set off their emergency beacon about 10am on Friday after becoming stuck in their modified Mitsubishi Canter about 150 kilometres northwest of Oodnadatta in South Australia’s Simpson Desert.The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) made contact with the family about 2.30pm on Friday and confirmed no one had been injured.A rescue plane was deployed to deliver a satellite phone and…
