Royal Mail Lorry Becomes Stuck After Ignoring Road Closure Signs In Ryde – Isle Of Wight Radio

(c) Robert Cooper A Royal Mail articulated lorry became stuck on Binstead Road in Ryde this morning (Wednesday) after reportedly driving past multiple road closure signs before attempting to turn around. The incident happened at around 8.30am near Stonepitts Close on the bend of Binstead Road. The vehicle, which had just left the Royal Mail delivery office in Ryde and was heading towards the ferry terminal for a return to the mainland, encountered the full road closure currently in place for improvement works. With 24-hour closures on Binstead Road continuing until the end of January, diversions are clearly signposted for motorists. However, it is understood the lorry driver passed two separate road closed signs before realising no further progress could be made. While trying to reverse and manoeuvre the vehicle, the lorry became stuck—partially mounting a grass bank and blocking part of the carriageway. Drivers are being reminded once again to follow official diversion routes and observe road closure signage while improvement works continue throughout January.  » Read More

PoCo Snowmobile Association plans events, hopes for cold | Community – Tioga Publishing

The Potter County Snowmobile Association is speeding into the new year with the promise of seasonal weather and a lineup of frosty events. The PCSA, which was founded in 1969 with the current clubhouse built in 1975, has drawn many participants and spectators over the last few years, said chairman Guy Wheeler. “Last year, 68 sleds raced the vintage oval,” he said. “For every guy on a sled, it takes three more to help them, so we get a good crowd. Last year was a good year for spectators.” The PCSA meeting schedule is as follows: Jan. 13., Feb. 10, March 10 and April 14. Races will take place on the following dates: Jan. 17 with a Jan. 24 race if the 17th doesn’t have snow; and Feb. 14, with a Feb. 21 race if the 14th doesn’t have snow. All events are held at the PCSA clubhouse at 942 North Hollow Road, Coudersport. Races have a goal start time of 10 a.m. “Ideal conditions are 22-25 degrees, up to 30 is OK,” said Wheeler.  » Read More

LPGA Tour Gets Its Turn At Tech-Infused Indoor Golf With WTGL To Start Next Season

TMRW Sports’ indoor golf league is going to feature teams from the LPGA Tour starting next season. The entertainment group and the LPGA announced the addition Tuesday of the WTGL, which will be run separately from the TGL while looking every bit like the tech-infused indoor league. Matches will be played at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Key details still to be worked out include how many four-player teams will be part of the inaugural WTGL season. TGL has six teams, with a seventh team (Detroit) to be added for its third season in 2026-27. The WTGL also is still forming ownership groups, making it too soon to announce the size of the inaugural season or which cities they will represent. Commissioner Craig Kessler has leaned into four pillars — trust, visibility, growing fans and securing financial stability — since taking over the LPGA in July. “We view our partnership with TGL exciting on two of those — growing fans and visibility,” Kessler said in a telephone interview.  » Read More

Paul Blackburn probably isn’t the most precise player to air dirty NY Mets laundry

Paul Blackburn has a unique perspective because he managed to get inside the New York Mets and New York Yankees locker rooms last year. Back with the Yankees again, he is able to comment better than just about anyone as to the vibes of the locker room. According to him, things were different between the Mets and Yankees last year. When Blackburn arrived to the Yankees after the Mets DFA’d him, things were positive. Here's what he told the NY Post: “When I showed up to the Yankees, it was very noticeable how everyone was pulling on the same rope. Guys seemed to really like each other and fight for each other. There was a lot of chemistry in the clubhouse. That’s not how it was with the Mets last year.” Blackburn also happened to be around in 2024 when the Mets locker room was nothing but copacetic. He cited how positive things were there with already well-known leaders J.D. Martinez and Jose Iglesias as to examples as to why everything was able to "mesh." What he says is true to what he observed but with only 7 games with the Mets and another 8 with the Yankees,  » Read More

21 former Dodgers still available in free agency as offseason reaches 2026 – Chat Sports

Here we are in 2026. The Los Angeles Dodgers still feel like an unstoppable baseball corporation masquerading as a baseball team, and yet the rumor mill keeps pulling us back into the past. Yes, nostalgia season is in full bloom, and suddenly half the remaining free-agent market looks like a Dodger Stadium alumni mixer. Let’s take a look at a few of the familiar faces still out there — and explore whether any of them should actually return to Chavez Ravine.21 former Dodgers still available in free agency as offseason reaches 2026Kiké HernándezLet’s just say it now: it would somehow be shocking if Kiké didn’t walk back into the Dodgers clubhouse at some point before Opening Day.  » Read More
