Clubhouse App

LinkedIn confirms it's working on a Clubhouse rival, too

Clubhouse’s list of competitors is growing. LinkedIn has now confirmed it’s also testing a social audio experience in its app which would allow creators on its network to connect with their community. Unlike the Clubhouse rivals being built by Facebook and Twitter, LinkedIn believes its audio networking feature will be differentiated because it will be connected with users’ professional identity, not just a social profile. In addition, the company has already built out a platform that serves the creator community, which today has access to tools like Stories, LinkedIn Live video broadcasting, newsletters and more. And just today, LinkedIn formalized some of its efforts in this area with the launch a new “Creator” mode that lets anyone set their profile as one that can be followed for updates, like Stories and LinkedIn Live videos, for example. This focus on creators puts LinkedIn on competitive footing in terms of expanding its own Clubhouse rival, compared with other efforts by Facebook, Twitter, Telegram,  » Read More

LinkedIn is in the early stages of testing audio features similar to the app Clubhouse. It's the latest platform to try audio-only content, following Twitter, Facebook, and Spotify. "We're looking at how we can bring audio to other parts of LinkedIn such as events and groups," a LinkedIn spokesperson said. See more stories on Insider's business page. Twitter Spaces Are Soon Coming to Desktop

Email Spaces received backlash for being a "Clubhouse copy," but it seems to be developing a lot faster than the invite-only app. Audio chat app Clubhouse exploded onto the scene in April 2020, and its popularity caused a domino effect of other social media apps pushing out similar features. Twitter was one of these apps, with its release of Spaces. Spaces Won't Be Mobile-Only for Much Longer Noah Jorgensen, senior software engineer at Twitter, shared screenshots on Friday of what he's currently working on: access to Spaces via a desktop computer. Jorgensen's screenshots show a small pop-up window that appears when you want to join a Space. You'll see a list of people currently in that Space, and a purple button that says Join this space. In the past, reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong has leaked some Twitter features before they've officially rolled out (for example, the addition of Revue's newsletter features and the development of the "undo tweet" button), but this time,  » Read More

The rise of Clubhouse

Clubhouse, a newly emerging social media mobile application, has been rapidly growing in popularity worldwide. This new, invite-only platform, based on voice, has lured many famous individuals, from Elon Musk to Bill Gates, to help stir engaging and relevant conversations with the general public. Launched in March 2020, Clubhouse is a social media platform where users come together from all around the world to talk, listen and learn from one another. Currently, it is only available to iPhone users, and new users can sign up via iMessage referrals from other existing users either on the platform or via a waitlist. People can connect and converse with individuals they know as well as others outside their first connection. New connections can be formed through mutual relations and while having discussions in a room. “This is very similar to very old school chat rooms,” Podcast Producer and Early Clubhouse Adopter Jerry Won said. As soon as users enter the app, they are presented with a hallway that shows the various rooms that people they follow are currently speaking or listening in.  » Read More

Why Some Anime Take So Long to Get More Seasons

Why do we have to wait years for the second season of so many anime? The reasons might surprise (and shock) you. Nowadays, it is not uncommon for there to be long time gaps between seasons of anime. For instance, there was a four-year gap between the respective first and second seasons of Attack on Titan and One-Punch Man, but it only took five years to get three Iron Man movies from Marvel Studios. Although the reasons for Attack on Titan's four years are very different from One-Punch Man's, they're by no means exceptional cases in the world of anime. Let’s take a look at a few reasons why some anime take such a long time to get another season. Continue scrolling to keep reading Click the button below to start this article in quick view. Photo Credit: Nathana RebouçasWant the Clubhouse app on Android? Here’s what we know about when it’s coming. In February, Clubhouse hired an Android software developer to begin working on the app. In the Clubhouse weekly Townhall event last Sunday, new platforms were the focus. Co-founder Paul Davison says his team is working really hard to bring the app to Android. But the timeline is looking like a few months, rather than a few weeks away.A January blog post from Clubhouse said its the Clubhouse Android app would be coming “soon.” But no time frame was provided, and statements about the Android version have been vague. That’s unfortunate for people who want to join the drop-in audio network. Meanwhile, competitors like Twitter and Facebook are hard at work on their clones.Twitter Spaces is now available to Android users and allows users to talk in live audio rooms. Right now, the feature is only available to a select few users. But Twitter says it plans to roll out Spaces to the general public next month.  » Read More

Slack plans to bring Clubhouse audio features to its app, because why not?

Slack has been doing the absolute most lately, and not much of it good. The app just introduced a Slack Connect private messaging feature that allows members to send direct messages to anyone outside of their organization, something that caused much backlash. But the company isn't done introducing new features to the platform, and the next set will come straight from Clubhouse. Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield confirmed (via Portal) in a Clubhouse chat that the app will add some new audio features that will be similar to Clubhouse. He didn't go into detail, but it's not surprising that the company wants to introduce new audio features, considering a growing number of platforms have already launched or plan to launch their own versions of the app. Meanwhile, Clubhouse availability on Android is still in the works, but some companies like Telegram are beating it to the punch. Audio groups isn't the only feature coming to Clubhouse. A simple audio messaging feature is currently being tested on Slack,  » Read More
