Subdivision of pavilion and clubhouse from muni golf course approved

By ASHLEY ONYON The Recorder AMSTERDAM — The sale of the city’s municipal golf course clubhouse and pavilion for $50,000 advanced toward the green this week with the approval by the Planning Commission of the subdivision of the properties from the golf course. The Common Council in February approved a pair of ordinances by votes of 4-1 authorizing the sale of the clubhouse and pavilion properties to Van Dyke Clubhouse and Van Dyke Pavilion, limited liability corporations controlled by Lance Orcutt, co-founder of Executive Group. The $50,000 property sale has been touted by city officials as an opportunity to have a private entity build a modern clubhouse on the site if the existing building that was considered outdated before it suffered severe flood damage in February 2019 caused by burst pipes. The city originally planned to use the approximately $1.6 million insurance payout related to the damage to remediate the building. The city later received an offer from Orcutt seeking to purchase the clubhouse and pavilion for a combined $50,000,  » Read More

In Its First Campaign, Lily's Sweets 'Reimagines' The Chocolate Experience

by Steve Ellwanger , 4 hours ago Having achieved more than 200,000 points of distribution since its founding in 2010, Lily’s Sweets is launching the specialty chocolate brand’s first advertising campaign. It's called “Sweets, Reimagined” and is designed to overcome the #1 barrier for persuading consumers to try a sugar-free or low-sugar candy: taste.A main differentiator of Lily’s products is that they get their sweetness from the stevia plant.Launching this week, a 15-second spot titled “Hello Sweetness” eschews a voiceover in favor of visuals of three Lily’s chocolate bars. Facebook's Clubhouse rival looks a lot like Clubhouse right now

Facebook is building a Clubhouse rival, The New York Times reported in February. But what that product will look like or how it will work have been questions that have remained unanswered. However, new screenshots of a Facebook audio product, still under development, show what appears to be a live audio broadcast experience that’s more of an extension of Facebook’s existing Messenger Rooms, rather than a standalone app experience. Facebook confirmed with TechCrunch the images are indeed examples of the company’s “exploratory audio efforts,” but cautioned that they don’t represent a live product at this time. The company said also that detailing what a product may look like based on these images would be inaccurate. We’ve decided to publish them anyway with the caveat that, of course, in-development features are very different from live products. Anything and everything could still change between now and a public launch. But the images at least help demonstrate how Facebook is thinking about live audio and where such a social experience could fit within Facebook’s existing app.  » Read More

Fashion is flourishing on Clubhouse by putting the focus on people versus brands

Like many who have used the popular new social media app Clubhouse, Jeff Carvalho, co-founder of Highsnobiety, has been shocked at how engaged its users are. Last week’s edition of his weekly show, “Culture Club,” engaged more than 300 listeners for four full hours. They asked questions and shared their opinions on the topic of racism against Asian-Americans. The top 20% of Clubhouse users, based on average time spent listening, are on the app for more than two hours a day, according to Clubhouse.Clubhouse, which has seen more than 10 million downloads since launching in March 2020, is swiftly becoming a hub for in-depth discussions on the ins and outs of streetwear and fashion. Culture Club, which focuses on fashion but touches on various other topics like art and film, boasts more than 23,000 followers. Carvalho’s co-hosts, former Vice Media vp of partner concepts Ben Dietz, Nordstrom men’s fashion director Jian DeLeon and Tiffany & Co. executive creative director Ruba Abu-Nimah, have 5,000-20,000 followers, while Carvalho has more than 3 million. The Clubhouse Challenge To Digital Authoritarianism in Thailand

By Wichuta TeeratanabodeeDisputes between the Thai authorities and anti-authoritarian movements are moving from the streets to the online world. Thai protestors are using creative memes and hashtags to spread their agenda. In the past few weeks, a new app Clubhouse has quickly become another venue through which protestors are calling for democracy. This development is yet another challenge to the Thai government’s digital authoritarianism, a developing trend since the 2014 coup.Launched in 2020, Clubhouse is an audio-based social media platform which allows users to create groups and share stories. Each member can schedule and host a virtual room, and then decide who can speak.Clubhouse was initially used among people in the fields of technology, finance, and entrepreneurship. The curious case of the 'Crabhouse' app that looks too much like 'Clubhouse'

Club House It has made us forget about needing a perfect video or photo to have a presence on networks. Based only on audio, the social network currently available for iOS, has attracted the attention of millions of followers and others who want to imitate it. Thus, the plans of several apps to launch a similar function are already known, but one in particular has attracted attention, although, not for the reasons we imagine. The Crabhouse and Cluhouse apps As shared by Japan Today the ‘Crabhouse’ app is too similar to Clubhouse in pronunciation.
