Juan Soto’s ‘chilly’ Francisco Lindor relationship only breeds more Yankees regret

Back to the New York Yankees Newsfeed When Juan Soto left the New York Yankees for the New York Mets in exchange for more money, the heftiest drama he and his team could conjure up was some silly nonsense about a security guard who didn't treat his family right/the stingy Yankees denying him a personal suite at the stadium. By all accounts, things went very well during Soto's season in the Bronx — within the clubhouse walls and on the field. When push came to shove, though, Steve Cohen and the Mets outbid Hal Steinbrenner and the Yankees. Mets fans spent all of 2024 bragging about how Steve Cohen's moneybags were coming for Soto, only to pivot on a dime after he signed and claim he chose the Mets because of .  » Read More

Mets might need to trade away veteran infielder to preserve clubhouse peace – Yahoo Sports

Wendell Cruz-Imagn ImagesWendell Cruz-Imagn Images A clubhouse rarely unravels all at once. More often, it frays in small ways that go unnoticed until the results on the field start to wobble. That’s what made Mike Puma’s recent report feel like a missing puzzle piece. The New York Mets didn’t just underperform in 2025. They lived through a summer where chemistry started to crack, and the consequences showed up in the standings long before anyone went public with the story.A Boiling Point That Matched the StandingsThe timeline is hard to ignore. According to Puma, tensions inside the Mets clubhouse bubbled over in late June, right around the moment the team’s season went sideways. What looked like a temporary slide turned into something closer to a full personality leak. The Mets finished 83-79, a record that reads like a shrug after months of inconsistent play. Advertisement That context matters because losing exposes everything. But in this case, the issues weren’t just about frustration from a rough week.  » Read More

The application is due to go before Brighton and Hove City Council’s Planning Committee next Wednesday (3 December). The application, submitted by the club’s agent, ECE Planning Limited, said: “The hours currently permitted under this condition are considered unduly restrictive and inconsistent with both the long-standing operation of Saltdean United Football Club and the requirements of a functioning community sports facility. “The existing clubhouse has been in operation since the 1970s and is subject only to the limitations of its club premises certificate,  » Read More

Fuzzy Zoeller, two-time major champion haunted by racist joke about Tiger Woods, dies at 74

Masters and U.S. Open champion Fuzzy Zoeller has died at the age of 74. Zoeller was one of golf's most gregarious characters and great champions. But his career... Fuzzy Zoeller, a two-time major champion and one of golf's most gregarious characters whose career was tainted by a racially insensitive joke about Tiger Woods, has died, according to a longtime colleague. He was 74. A cause of death was not immediately available. Brian Naugle, the tournament director of the Insperity Invitational in Houston, said Zoeller's daughter called him Thursday with the news. Zoeller was the last player to win the Masters on his first attempt, a three-man playoff in 1979. He famously waved a white towel at Winged Foot in 1984 when he thought Greg Norman had beat him, only to defeat Norman in an 18-hole playoff the next day. But it was the 1997 Masters that changed his popularity. Woods was on his way to a watershed moment in golf with the most dominant victory in Augusta National history.  » Read More

Harrison Bader Free Agency Outlook: Mets, Orioles, Royals Among Top Fits

Harrison Bader brought energy, defense, and grit to the Phillies’ clubhouse but as his market opens, several teams are positioned to make a serious run at him. Harrison Bader brought a jolt of much-needed energy to the Phillies’ clubhouse the moment he arrived from Minnesota. His defense, intensity, and edge quickly made him a favorite inside the room. in the stands and a seamless fit on the field. And while the Phillies would love to keep him in red pinstripes, they’re also allowing Bader’s representatives gauge the market. That openness creates an opening and here are three teams that could realistically steal Bader away from Philly. New York Mets A reunion in Queens could easily be in play for Bader. The Mets just shipped Brandon Nimmo to the Texas Rangers in the Marcus Semien deal, creating an immediate vacancy in the outfield. And much like his brief but memorable stint in Philadelphia, Bader was widely respected and well-liked inside the Mets clubhouse. New York values his defense, energy, and presence, making them a natural threat to bring him back if the price is right.  » Read More
