Golf club submits plans for expansion – Sunshine Coast News

Plans to reconfigure and expand the facilities at a renowned golf course have been lodged, as the club looks to “refine and optimise” its offerings. Maroochy River Golf Club is planning to add a nine-hole par-three course with lighting, and a “mid-length” nine-hole “executive course”, as well as expanding its car park and maintenance facilities. The proposal was submitted by Project Urban on behalf of Horton Park Golf Club Maroochydore Inc late last month, and follows a vote on the plan by members last May. “This minor change application is lodged in response to the club’s desire to refine and optimise its outdoor sport and recreational offer in order to support the club’s infrastructure, membership growth and financial sustainability,” a letter by Project Urban supporting the application says. The plan includes changing a previously approved 18-hole pitch-and-putt course to a more compact nine-hole par-three course, complete with lighting to allow for evening play. Currently vacant land earmarked for a third nine holes of the full course would instead become the new nine-hole executive course,  » Read More

Dino Ebel Details Kyle Tucker Fitting In With Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers bolstered what was already considered one of the best lineups in baseball when they signed Kyle Tucker to a four-year, $240 million contract. Tucker has been one of the most productive players in recent seasons and gives the team another All-Star caliber player to pair with the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Will Smith, among others. The Dodgers were thrilled to add Tucker as they believe he will be a difference maker in their quest to win a third consecutive World Series title. However, others from outside of the organization have questioned the 29-year-old’s passion for the game and work ethic. “The key with anybody is you build the relationship, you communicate,” Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel said of Tucker on SportsNet LA. “Day 1, when he stepped into Spring Training, that was my goal. “I had him before in the WBC in ’23, got to know him in a short period of time — three weeks — but it was a good time for me.  » Read More

tvOS 26 recently added two Apple TV 4K features I’ve been loving – 9to5Mac

The wait continues for a new Apple TV 4K, but Apple has steadily added new features to tvOS 26 via recent updates, including two changes I’ve been especially enjoying. #1: Profile upgrades Every streaming service has its own user profile feature, but prior to tvOS 26, Apple’s own systemwide option was lackluster. Recently in tvOS 26.2 though, Apple made two changes that turned profiles into a feature I’m now loving. First, the update made it possible to create a new profile without having an associated Apple Account. I have a young toddler, so he’s still a ways off from needing his own Apple Account. But I was able to create a tvOS profile for him with ease after tvOS 26.2. Second, the Apple TV app now filters out the content it shows based on the age of the profile in use. So now, with my toddler having his own profile, I can open the Apple TV app and only see content that’s appropriate for him to browse.  » Read More
