BALTIMORE—Shane Baz signed his five-year, $68 million contract two days before his first regular-season appearance for the Orioles. The 26-year-old right-hander will receive a $4 million signing bonus and a $1 million salary for this season, according to reports. Previously, he had agreed to a $3.5 salary in his year of arbitration. Baz is set to make $7 million in 2027, $10 million in 2028, and $21million and $25 million in 2029 and 2030, which were set to be his first two years of free agency. “It’s such a good opportunity,” Baz said. “It’s such a great team. I think it was a no-brainer for us, just to be in such a great spot.” Baz, who came to the Orioles from the Tampa Bay in December, had a 17-17 record with a 4.25 ERA in 54 starts with the Rays. Banbury United has faced problems in fulfilling its home fixtures in recent seasons, with the club's location on the banks of the River Cherwell making it particularly susceptible to wet weather. Earlier this season, the club was forced to postpone three home games in a row, due to the pitch at the Spencer Stadium being waterlogged. The financial implications of these postponements has now left the club hunting for funds for its clubhouse project. It said it had already received a significant donation towards the project from the Banbury Charities group, as well as from the Unite union. Virgin Atlantic’s Heathrow passenger lounge has undergone a huge refurbishment and now includes new wellness and cinema features. In time for the lounge’s 20th year of operation at London Heathrow Terminal 3, the airline’s “Clubhouse” has undergone its first phase of a redesign. Airline bosses say the next stage will include the eventual opening of an outdoor roof terrace. Available to its Upper Class (business) customers, the refreshed area features a new cinema, work pods and a gallery area to relax in before flying. Two new pop-up wellness experiences are also currently available, including three Somadomes, which are enclosed pods that provide light therapy and sound healing for meditation. Until 31 May, guests can experience a complimentary session in one of the Somadomes.
