“It’s always the little men in the wrong that have the biggest tantrum”: Taxi driver threatens to …

There was a time when Ivan Sosa was talked about as a ‘next big thing’, at Ineos at the same time as a young Egan Bernal, the Colombian moved to Movistar and steadily accrued a series of wins at smaller stage races before the victories dried up. Now riding for second-tier Caja Rural, who will ride the Tour de France for the first time in decades, Sosa has claimed his first win in nearly four years, going solo with 4.5km remaining on the summit finish at Kiran to also take the GC lead after three stages. Last year, the Tour of Turkiye was a key race for Astana on their way to avoiding relegation from the WorldTour, taking several stages and Wout Poels and Harold Martin Lopez finishing first and second overall. Elsewhere the Tour de Romandie starts today, meaning it’s one year since Sam Watson claimed victory after being called-up to the race at a day’s notice. It also established Watson as a slightly unexpected prologue specialist, though he’s not racing this year.  » Read More

New FTC Data Show People Have Lost Billions to Social Media Scams

New data from the Federal Trade Commission show that, in 2025, nearly 30% of people who reported losing money to a scam said that it started on social media, with reported losses reaching a staggering $2.1 billion. Social media scams produced far more in losses—an eightfold increase since 2020—than any other contact method used by scammers to reach consumers, according to the new data. The Data Spotlight notes that social media creates easy access to billions of people from anywhere in the world, making a scammer’s job easier at very little cost. Scammers may hack a user’s account, exploit what a user posts to figure out how to target them, or buy ads and use the same tools used by real businesses to target people by age, interests or shopping habits. Reports show that in 2025, people reported losing more money to scams that started on Facebook than on any other social media platform. WhatsApp and Instagram were a distant second and third. In 2025, people reported losing far more money to scams on Facebook alone than they reported losing to text or email scams.  » Read More

Senior Moments: Baby boomers taking control of their Facebook and their happiness level

It’s a jungle out there, folks, and some of the time we baby boomers just want to give up and go back to the “good old days.” This digital age has brought in so many new-fangled ways to do things. Society appears to expect us to accomplish more in a single day with the use of computers than our grandparents could manage in an entire week without them. On top of that, everyone we know — and some we don’t — want our attention, and we just want the information overload to stop! Well, there is a way to take control and regain the happiness you deserve. Society insists that we use social media to communicate across the globe or across the table. Many of my friends have become frustrated with their Facebook account. Just when they feel they have it figured out, Meta goes and changes the layout and rules. And the junk they send! It’s showing up in their feed even though they didn’t ask for it. They just want to see posts from family and friends,  » Read More

Facebook post inspires stranger to donate a kidney and save woman’s life

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (InvestigateTV) — Every day, 13 people die waiting for an organ transplant. More than 100,000 people are on the national transplant waiting list, and 85 percent of them need a kidney. Living organ donation — in which a person donates one kidney, part of their liver or certain other organs and tissues — is a critical solution to that shortage. “Living organ donation is critically important because that previous gift of life is literally the difference between life or death for people on the waiting list. The wait for a deceased kidney donation is far too long,” Dr. Steven Potter, a transplant surgeon, said. For one Memphis patient, doctors said the wait would be five to seven years. She was placed on the list and began to hope. A Facebook post changes everything Jenny Joyner is a busy wife and mother of three, a senior in high school, a middle child with Down syndrome, and a 10-year-old. She also has four dogs and a cat. Joyner did not set out to become a living organ donor — but a Facebook post changed that.  » Read More

French PR Executive Behind Facebook Network Spreading Heat Pump Hate – DeSmog

A French PR executive with links to the gas industry appears to be behind an online campaign to discredit clean heating, it can be revealed. The new investigation by DeSmog and Politico found boutique Paris-based PR firm Digital Tellers is linked to a web of connected Facebook groups and accounts, which regularly share false claims about the cost, noise and reliability of heat pumps. Electricity-powered heat pumps, which draw air from outside homes and transfer it into heating, are critical to Europe’s plans to reduce its reliance on volatile, planet-heating gas. Studies show that this low-carbon technology is up to three times more efficient than gas boilers, and, when properly installed, can halve households’ heating bills.  But posts disseminated in the Facebook groups by several inauthentic accounts describe heat pumps as “useless” and compare them to a “lawn mower that never stops”, while installers are branded “swindlers” (“margoulins”) and “environmental fraudsters” (“éco-délinquants”). This investigation was published in partnership with Politico.  » Read More
