Even More Cringeworthy Posts or A Helpful Tool? LinkedIn Just Added ChatGPT-like Post Generator

Struggling to figure out what to post or LinkedIn or sick and tired of cringeworthy LinkedIn updates from “hustlers” and “entrepreneurs”? The good news is that you can now use a tool similar to ChatGPT on LinkedIn, as the social media platform just deployed a generative AI designed to help create content. The bad news is that LinkedIn was already full of content that sounded like cheap AI, and now it’s going to get even worse. As SocialMediaToday put it: “This is my key concern with LinkedIn’s generative AI post prompts, that it’s going to enable people to create a misrepresentation of who they are, and what they know, by making it incredibly easy to just fake it, post, and move.” So, how does the LinkedIn generative AI work?  From a GizmoChina report: “To utilize this feature, users need to provide a minimum of 30 words outlining the key message they wish to convey in their post. Leveraging user input, the generative AI generates drafts that can be reviewed, edited, or directly published. Keren Baruch stated that the feature is currently in the testing phase and will eventually be accessible to all users.” Useful or annoying? Share your thoughts in

LinkedIn Influencing Is Staying Put, Here’s How To Get It Right In B2B – The Drum

Influencing has gone corporate. Here to make sense of it all, Emily Lowes of content agency Earnest insists the channel is here to stay – and no industry needs it more than B2B.Picture this: It’s 2010. You unlock your iPhone 4 and load up YouTube, where you’re greeted by the semi-famous faces of Zoella, PewDiePie and Jenna Marbles. Former nobodies who’ve made a name for themselves by simply talking about things they like to a camera. A lot of millennials share a similar (although ultimately less lucrative) experience. A generation of former wannabe child stars, they were no stranger to hitting record and even less shy of the ‘Upload’ button. After all, those iconic Vines had to come from somewhere. In 2023, the average influencer has progressed slightly, with many forging careers by not only posting online but also promoting goods and services. With Twitter teetering on the brink of its demise, we thought it would be a good idea to take a look at how brands can capitalize on LinkedIn’s recent surge in popularity. The corporate-fication of the influencer?YouTubers walked so LinkedIn influencers could run. We’ve come a long way since the dark ages of the internet, and influencing

Barack Obama shares the No. 1 tactic he uses to maintain a positive mindset – CNBC

Barack Obama is no stranger to bleak circumstances — maintaining a positive attitude despite them helps him stay in high spirits.Obama, 61, discussed the top tactic he uses to remain level-headed in an interview with comedian Hasan Minhaj published on Wednesday.Minhaj asked the former president, who he dubbed the "hope and change guy," if he ever gets depressed amid current conditions like climate change, anti-abortion laws and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. "I do try to maintain some perspective," Obama responded. "Ask your parents or your grandparents whether this is the worst that they've seen. I'm pretty sure that between World War I, World War II, the Great Depression … we can go through the list of moments that are significantly worse than this."Instead of dwelling on upsetting events, he subscribes to the "glass half full" mindset that things could always be worse, helping him foster a sense of gratitude. Obama added that many of us, himself included, grew up during a time where positive events seemed to outweigh the negative ones, so it may be hard to be optimistic when it's the other way around."I grew up in this anomalous stretch of time in which, even though bad things were happening, for the most

Gray's New Season Everton Vow

Demarai Gray has vowed to come back from the summer break in the “best shape possible” as he looks to boost his attacking output in the new season.  It’s been a challenging period for the Blues since Gray arrived on Merseyside two years ago, but the 26-year-old has played an integral role in helping the Club secure their Premier League status in both campaigns.  He’s scored a combined nine Premier League strikes – which includes a goal-of-the-season contender at Manchester City last season - while registering a further four assists. Gray was also chosen by manager Sean Dyche to lead the line ahead of other more traditional strikers in last season’s crucial final game against Bournemouth. He produced a battling display which, along with Abdoulaye Doucoure’s stunning second-half strike, helped the Blues secure a vital 1-0 win.  Reflecting on the days leading up to that contest, Gray told evertonfc.com: “I think I trained pretty well throughout the week with Dom (Calvert-Lewin) being out. I wanted to make sure I could impress and put myself in line to play and, thank God, it did. “Obviously in my performance, I should’ve scored, but I did my work and ran for the team.”

Green jobs are hot on LinkedIn – POLITICO

We had a sense that renewable energy was hot. LinkedIn backs that up: The renewable energy industry is hiring at roughly double the rate of the oil and gas industry, according to the job site’s crunching of hiring data.Renewable energy’s hiring rate has outpaced that of oil and gas since March 2020, with the gap continuing into 2023. LinkedIn calculates its hiring rate by taking the ratio of hires and dividing that by its total membership. That data is indexed to 2016. The number of renewable jobs posted on LinkedIn this year was the highest ever. And in the first three months of this year, there were 69 percent more renewable energy jobs posted compared with the same period a year earlier, according to LinkedIn. Meanwhile, oil and gas job postings during that time period grew by 57 percent.Across all energy sectors, the solar industry is hiring the fastest. The high demand for renewables workers underscores a potential problem: a wide — and growing — gap between workers who have “green” skills and jobs that want them. The social-media platform found that the percentage of workers with green skills rose by a median of 12.3 percent from 2022 to 2023, while the
