While 46pc of entry roles in Ireland are held by women, this falls below 25pc for both VP and C-suite level according to LinkedIn and WEF data. Women in Ireland remain underrepresented at leadership level and are less likely to be promoted to leadership roles than men. That’s according to new data released by LinkedIn and the World Economic Forum (WEF). The data on Ireland showed that just under one quarter (24pc) of C-suite positions in Ireland are held by women. On a global level, women hold less than one third of leadership positions. According to the WEF’s Global Gender Gap report 2022, it will take another 132 years to close the gender gap. In Ireland, LinkedIn and the WEF’s data revealed that women are more underrepresented at managerial and senior levels. At entry level, 46pc of roles in Ireland are held by women. Climbing up the seniority ladder, the share of Irish women holding manager roles drops slightly to 42pc, before falling to below 25pc for both VP and C-suite level. It gives you a treasure trove of information on who LinkedIn thinks is in your competitive set and/or peer group or who have similar profiles/backgrounds to yours. If you have this feature enabled on your profile, it will show a list of profiles of people that viewers of your profile have also viewed. While the people in People Who Viewed can change each week, it can be a useful indicator to gauge whether your LinkedIn brand is what you want it to be. Note that you have no direct control over who shows up there, LinkedIn determines it algorithmically, based on the viewing habits of your viewers. It is solely based on who else your viewers view besides you. The people at the top of the list have the most views by people who have also looked at the profile you’re viewing. One of the biggest mistakes I made when I first started posting updates on LinkedIn was not having an actual LinkedIn social media strategy. I used to post content on a whim whenever I had an idea. The problem with that is that sometimes my content was all over the place in terms of topics, timing, and approach. New Delhi: Netizens have applauded a woman who recently posted sex work as an experience on professional networking platform LinkedIn. US-based Arielle Egozi, with nearly 10,000 followers, was praised by internet users for her courage and breaking the taboo. As news of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe’s assassination spread, tributes gushed forth from the social media accounts and websites of presidents, prime ministers, monarchs, diplomats and business leaders. A proposed ordinance would require the city to upgrade pedestrian, bike, and transit infrastructure whenever a road is repaved. An ordinance proposed by Chicago alderperson Matt Martin would require the Chicago Department of Transportation to make pedestrian, bike, and/or public transit upgrades to roads anytime a street is repaved. As Courtney Cobbs reports in Streetsblog Chicago, “The goal of the legislation is to ensure that every time the Chicago Department of Transportation repaves a street, rather than simply restriping it the same car-centric way as before, it prioritizes the needs of people walking, biking, and riding transit.” According to a statement from Martin, “This ordinance calls on CDOT to take advantage of its Arterial Resurfacing projects with the regular addition of ambitious infrastructure including protected bike lanes, pedestrian refuge islands, bus bulbs, and raised crosswalks. It will ensure that CDOT prioritizes alternatives to cars.” Cobb notes that “documentation on any exemption must be made publicly available and shared with the City Council’s Committee on Pedestrian and Traffic Safety.” A similar ordinance in Cambridge, Massachusetts “requires the city to provide protected or raised bike lanes on all streets that are included in its bike master plan except in “rare” circumstances, which…
