BC Parks has shut down the most heavily used route up the Stawamus Chief with no estimated reopening date. The most frequented path up one of B.C.'s most iconic peaks is now off-limits. BC Parks has shut down the main hiking trail on the Stawamus Chief due to rockfall, barricading the trailhead and posting signage at the kiosk warning of dangerous conditions. “Please do not enter the area. There is no estimated reopening timeframe for the trail. This closure also impacts access to the Sea to Summit Trail via the Stawamus Chief main hiking trail,” BC Parks said in an online advisory. Hikers can still access the Sea to Summit Trail via The Climb (Skatshn) trail at the Sea to Sky Gondola. “Snow and ice will make conditions on The Climb challenging, and appropriate equipment and footwear are essential,” the advisory adds.

As we head into 2026, one thing is clear: LinkedIn profiles are no longer static resumes. They are living, breathing brand assets. The question isn’t whether you should update your LinkedIn profile, but how you will position yourself to build your personal brand in 2026. Before you rush to tweak a headline or swap a banner, pause. It’s time to reflect for a strategy moment. LinkedIn in 2026: It’s Not Just Visibility – It’s Positioning LinkedIn has become a hybrid of: A search engine, if you optimize it with the right keywords and content A content platform where you have social proof with visibility and discoverability A reputation builder A credibility check of your thought leadership and more! Recruiters, clients, donors, collaborators, and hiring managers don’t just skim profiles anymore. They pattern-match using their human intuition to make connections for a strategic advantage. This pattern-matching might include recognizing similar skills in candidates, trends in hiring, recurring behaviors, or themes, as well as coding themes for data analysis. They’re asking: Do I immediately

To doomscroll through it was to encounter one post after another about the barren landscape for job hunters — laments about resumes silently filtered out by AI-powered gatekeepers and employers ghosting candidates midway through their interview process. Users with little green “#OpenToWork” banners on their avatars — the cheery mark of the damned — commiserated about sending dozens if not hundreds of applications out into the ether without luck. Key takeaways Outside of early Covid days, 2025 was by some measures the worst job market since the aftermath of the Great Recession. Young college graduates, along with certain sectors, including manufacturing and Big Tech, faced particularly tough hiring environments. Trump’s immigration and tariff policies are partially to blame, but some economists say that other causes predate his presidency. “After nearly eight months of unemployment and a nonstop corporate job search in this brutal job market, I’ve pivoted,” began one such note. “I’ve made a decision to take a full-time role at Trader Joe’s.” The LinkedInners were not

But the clarification is not coming out of nowhere, as a top-level Microsoft engineer made bold claims of using AI to replace C and C++ with Rust. “My goal is to eliminate every line of C and C++ from Microsoft by 2030. Our strategy is to combine AI *and* Algorithms to rewrite Microsoft’s largest codebases. Our North Star is “1 engineer, 1 month, 1 million lines of code,” Galen Hunt, who is a top-level engineer at Microsoft, wrote in a now-edited LinkedIn post. “Eliminate every line of C and C++ from Microsoft by 2030” obviously suggests that Microsoft’s top-level engineer, who is responsible for several large-scale research projects, is talking about products like Windows. I also screenshotted the LinkedIn post before it was edited out by the top-level Microsoft engineer: Honestly, most people would not have taken this seriously if it did not come
