Yesterday's Wisconsin Court of Appeals decision in MacCudden v. Johnson (Justice Joseph Donald, joined by Justice Maxine White), involved a former high school English teacher (MacCudden); at the time of the statements, she had resigned from the school district, but hadn't updated her LinkedIn profile. Johnson received a screenshot from a friend of a portion of MacCudden's LinkedIn profile, which Johnson subsequently posted on social media. Johnson's post included the portion of MacCudden's LinkedIn profile which stated that she worked as a "Social Justice Coordinator" circled in red and Johnson wrote, "hy the hell am I paying for a 'Social Justice Coordinator' in my school district?" Johnson further stated, "his is just what @mtschools needs; more woke, white women w/ a god complex. Thank you, white savior." Later, Johnson added, "f really wants to promote equity, perhaps she should forfeit her job to a person of color?" Johnson also replied to a social media user that: Teachers who educate are paid a fraction of what these DEI "specialists" earn. Parents know these woke lunatics are bullies. eVTOL stocks are taking off, but the market may be getting ahead of itself. These so-called “flying cars” are really just electric helicopters that could carry cargo – or people – over short distances. It sounds like a great way to avoid traffic, but the success of these firms lies with regulators like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As ads become more common in the streaming video experience, streaming can look more like traditional TV, monetizing eyes with ads. Two distinct business models—TV and SVOD—appear to be steadily converging into one. However, unlike cable or broadcast TV, AVOD is often being chosen (or tolerated) by consumers as part of a broader mix of services, bundles, and household budget strategies. With minimal friction for canceling subscriptions, streamers are challenged to gather large enough audiences to draw premium ad spending from brands. Streamers may lack the customer data and advanced technologies of social platforms, and connected TVs still lack the interactivity of smartphones and the web. Reid Hoffman, the co-founder at LinkedIn, has announced the acquisition of  CryptoPunk NFT. He also recently updated his profile picture in order to showcase the digital collectible from one of web3 and crypto’s most prominent collections. Hoffman, an experienced technology investor and businessman, has been looking into various crypto-focused initiatives as well as their active ecosystems. Hoffman’s decision to feature a CryptoPunk LinkedIn profile picture indicates his active involvement with web3 and blockchain tech along with other tech industry professionals. CryptoPunks represent an NFT collection that has cultivated active ecosystems in the nascent crypto and blockchain sector. The digital collection includes more than 10,000 pixel art characters that served as one of the most prominent examples of profile picture NFTs (or non-fungible tokens). Tech entrepreneurs and business owners are now more actively participating in crypto via different projects as well as community engagements, suggesting growing adoption of blockchain and DeFi apps. Story Highlights The NHL announces that the New York Islanders will host the 2027 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend at UBS Arena on Long Island, N.Y. The event is scheduled for Feb. 5-7. The weekend’s festivities will be broadcast by ESPN and ABC. Additional information on the league’s midseason showcase, including ticketing and broadcast information, will be announced when available. In addition, the league announces that due to NHL players being focused on travel and preparation for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, there will be no event at UBS Arena in February of 2026 to formally recognize the participating athletes. It is expected that each NHL club will organize an Olympic Winter Games send-off for its respective players traveling to Italy, with more details to be announced when available. The 2027 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend will mark the second time the Islanders will host NHL All-Star activities, with the first being the 1983 edition, featuring the Campbell Conference All-Stars defeating the Wales Conference All-Stars 9-3.
