Meta announced on Wednesday that it’s rolling out a new tool, Scam Alert, to thwart con artists on WhatsApp. The optional feature, currently in beta testing, will run an on-device machine learning model to flag scam messages without giving WhatsApp, Meta or any other entity access to your private conversations. To take part in the feature, you must turn on the Scam Alert tool in WhatsApp’s settings menu. From there, the AI tool will be automatically downloaded to your phone. You can disable the feature at any time. Scam Alert operates in the background by classifying incoming text messages from unknown senders. It looks at communication patterns associated with scams on the app, such as requests for personal information, an urgent tone and deliberate trust-building tactics used in romance-baiting scams, in which scammers create a fake emotional bond before asking for financial assistance. WhatsApp will display a banner warning of a potential scam in a message that only the recipient will see. To move forward, you can either block the sender, report the conversation, ignore the warning or trust the unknown sender. That last option removes the warning flag and stops future alerts for that conversation. Since this is an

instagram Meta Instagram retired its decade-old cursive wordmark Thursday, rolling out a bolder script globally as the full brand identity follows through 2026. Instagram has a new signature. The platform on Thursday unveiled a redesigned wordmark — the text-only logo that sits at the top of the app — marking the first change to that mark in ten years. "The wordmark at the top of the app hasn't changed in 10 years, so it was time for a refresh," head of Instagram Adam Mosseri wrote in announcing the change. "Cleaner and more modern, with references to the original and the simplicity and craft that's always made it Instagram." The multicolored gradient camera icon on your home screen is staying put. What changes is the lettering itself: the new wordmark trades the loose, handwritten cursive of the 2016 version for a bolder, more compact script, keeping connected letterforms and playful flourishes as a nod to the original. Hundreds Of Directions, One Familiar Answer In a blog post detailing the process, Meta's design team said it explored hundreds of directions — from all-caps treatments to camera concepts to literal handwriting — before returning to script. "Script reflects individuality, so referencing that felt

LEXINGTON, Ky. – It was the ideal season opener for the Wildcats women’s soccer team on Wednesday evening, marking the inaugural start of the calendar year for UK Athletics. The blue and white held nothing back, coming up with a 6-0 win in convincing fashion from start to finish. It was two minutes into the game when the Wildcats struck first, with junior Lexi Tylenda sending a ball in from the left wing, unmarked and unassisted. Into the upper 90 it snuck, giving Kentucky the opening goal of the season and a 1-0 lead. Moments later, the Titans snuck on the attack, but sophomore goalkeeper Megan Holland was there for the clean save and the only of the match. Maintaining possession, the Wildcats saw a second opportunity just 10 minutes later at the 12 minute mark, as senior midfielder Nadia Ramadan hit one from the stripe of the penalty marker to extend the lead to two. At 18 minutes on the clock, freshman forward Kyla Dawn took a hard foul in the box and a yellow card against Detroit Mercy’s goalkeeper Eva Hill. This rewarded Ramadan with her second made PK of the day to extend things to 3-0 in
