C9 Ziqo unbanned on Twitch after 7 days

Image via Ziqo Cloud9 streamer C9 Ziqo has finally had his ban Twitch lifted after almost an entire week. The streamer was banned from the platform last Monday in a move that left Ziqo confused about what had caused the punishment. Ziqo was told by Twitch he was banned due to using a hateful slur during his stream. While he was confident he had not intentionally used any hateful slurs, Ziqo did suggest that Twitch may have misheard him saying something else and interpreted it as something offensive. Yesterday, Ziqo released a video on his YouTube channel discussing the ban. He shared the platform had failed to provide a specific clip or example for why he had been banned. Following this, popular streamer xQc shared the video and urged Twitch to share a timestamp for when Ziqo had breached the TOS, much like they have done for him in the past. Shaq doubles down on criticism of Donovan Mitchell with Instagram post on 'greatness at the guard …

Shaquille O'Neal has never been particularly supportive of the generation of players that followed him. Feuds with other big men like Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee and Rudy Gobert have become common for the current TNT broadcaster and Hall of Fame center, but his criticism reached a nadir in a recent interview with Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell. Speaking to Mitchell on live television, O'Neal told him that "you don't have what it takes to get to the next level," and justified the statement by suggesting that he wanted Mitchell to hear it as a form of motivation. O'Neal has been roundly criticized for the interview, with both fans and modern stars like Kevin Durant and LeBron James speaking in Mitchell's defense. But rather than apologize for his statement, O'Neal has doubled down on it. On Monday, O'Neal posted an Instagram slideshow showcasing former teammates Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Steve Nash, Gary Payton, Penny Hardaway and LeBron James with a caption that read: "This is what greatness at the guard position looks like. I played with the best ever-to do it. You know I know what best look like. #donthavetohate. Y'all kno I got G14 classification to say what I say."The post was…

Twitch: The Ultimate COVID-19 Beneficiary

Back in May of 2005, the world changed forever when three former PayPal employees launched their unfinished website. The free video-sharing platform Youtube was made available to anyone who had an Internet connection. With its release to the public, Youtube ushered in the era of constant content creation that began with grainy comedy sketches and cute cat edits and today covers any topic that you could think of, from home training to ASMR. In this new online world, one industry has slowly risen to the forefront—live streaming. “Live streaming” is the act of sharing content with viewers in real time, allowing creators to interact with their viewers while they are delivering their content. Previously, live content had been reserved for big broadcast stations that had access to the technology and resources to make it available to the general public. But the continued development of the Internet has created the opportunity for anyone with a phone or computer to livestream their daily activities. Youtube launched its “Youtube Live” function for content creators in 2011, but there is another platform that has competed with Youtube in this category, at times even surpassing it. In the same year, the executive team of Justin.tv launched Twitch.tv,…

Banks review services policy for WhatsApp

Mumbai: Banks, which were looking to integrate WhatsApp as a key channel for customers to transact on, are reviewing their policies in respect of the use of the messaging platform. This comes after general concerns among the public that have arisen over Facebook sharing user data among its group companies. HDFC Bank, which was earlier offering customers the option to obtain bank account balances through WhatsApp banking, has discontinued the facility. Customers seeking balance inquiry are asked to use the bank’s mobile banking app, net banking or other offline methods. Others — ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank — continue to allow customers to check their balance. According to an industry source, earlier the idea was to have deep integration with the bank’s systems and artificial intelligence chatbots so that customers can get their servicing requests and even transactions done in a straight-through manner. The idea was to facilitate the entire banking experience through the social media platform, where customers spend most of their time, without having to log into net banking. Now there appears to be some caution in using WhatsApp banking as a channel. It is not clear whether HDFC Bank’s change in WhatsApp…
