Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu claims Google and WhatsApp will buy wheat and hoard it to …

Amidst the ongoing protests by farmers along the Haryana-Delhi border, a video of Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu has gone viral on the social media leaving netizens in splits. On Thursday, the Congress MP from Ludhiana – Punjab Ravneet Singh Bittu spoke to NDTV India in connection with the ongoing farmer protests along the Delhi border. Speaking to NDTV India, the Congress MP emphasised on how the three laws passed by the Modi government was anti-farmer in nature. Bittu continuing to explain about the farm bills to the viewers, however, ended up goofing-up in a big way after he claimed that it is not the farmers who will benefit from the laws but the tech-giants such as Google and WhatsApp. According to Bittu, the agitation against the Modi government is not just a farmer protest but was a “movement of more than 80 per cent people of the country”. Why more fashion brands are investing in Snapchat's Bitmoji

In its aim to stay competitive among social platforms, Snapchat has launched a new string of high profile-fashion partnerships. Snapchat worked with Ralph Lauren in November and Jordan Brand in September on a number of initiatives, both on the main Snapchat app and with the platform’s subsidiary company Bitmoji. And on Thursday afternoon, Snapchat will roll out a third fashion partnership in three months with Levi’s, which includes releasing a collection of Levi’s products that people can use to dress their virtual Bitmoji avatars or buy in real life to dress themselves. Snap is aiming to link with fashion partners using both time-tested tactics and new ones — last week with Ralph Lauren, it introduced the ability to scan a fabric logo on clothing using its app and be directed to online content. Snapchat has lagged behind other social platforms, with 46 million monthly active U.S. users as of October 2020, while Instagram has more than 120 million monthly active users in the U.S. But the increase in brand partnerships and the advertising dollars they brought in over the last year have helped the platform monetize the audience it does have. Snap ads typically start at around $3,000 per month,…

Black Twitter On Stand By For Anyone Trying To Come For Sasha Obama

Published 13 hours ago Sasha Obama is out here on social media, looking gorgeous and living her best life with her friends, and usually that's a cue for haters and racists to try to steal her joy. Sasha and her older sister Malia Obama are routinely scrutinized by right wing pundits and Twitter trolls for doing everyday, normal young adult things like wearing a bikini at the beach or cuddling with a boyfriend. But this time, Black Twitter is ready and on the defense. After Sasha appeared in a TikTok video dancing and acting goofy with a group of friends (while also looking extremely fly in a set of long acrylic nails), hundreds of people on social media jumped out with a warning for anyone fixing their fingers to malign the 19-year-old daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama. "Let me see one post slandering Sasha Obama because she’s living her life...," one Twitter user wrote, while another added, "Our Sasha Obama looks happy, has a group of normal looking friends, and is simply beautiful. We’re good over here." See some hilarious tweets leaping to Sasha's defense, below: Photo: BRENDAN SMIALOWSKI/AFP via Getty Images

Snap's head of editorial content, Rachel Richardson, is leaving the company at the beginning of 2021, Business Insider has learned. Richardson is the third manager-level employee on the content side to leave in the last six months, as well as the most senior — head of news Xana O'Neill departed in June, and the head of the entertainment vertical quietly left in November. The significant departures coincide with increased scrutiny of Snapchat's editorial team after former employees accused the company of racist content policies and discrimination. Snap conducted a five-month internal investigation into the complaints, and concluded it "did not find a widespread pattern" of problematic behavior. Are you a Snap insider with insight to share? That’s less than social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat, but Reddit is claiming growth of 44 per cent compared to 2019. “We’re sharing for the first time as a more accurate reflection of our user growth and to be more in-line with industry reporting,” said Jen Wong, chief operating officer of Reddit, to the Wall Street Journal. She added that her firm claimed an average of 52 million daily users. It is far less than Facebook (1.82 billion daily active users in September), Twitter (187 million users during the third quarter) and Snapchat (249 million of active members). At one time Reddit used to communicate its monthly number of users. During the same period last year, the platform recorded 430 million users a month. Reddit claims 44 per cent growth compared to October 2019, while Twitter’s is 29 per cent, Snapchat’s 18 per cent and Facebook’s…
