The evolution of all social media giants has been colossal. They are no longer a simple messaging platform or a source of entertainment. The impact that these apps have on our lives is immeasurable and at the same time it has opened up several opportunities for the people. Users have found an opportunity to showcase their talents and even get recognition for it. Musicians, dancers, artists, chefs have all taken up these platforms. All this changed when trade and business were introduced into it. These platforms then evolved into a mediator for trade and people who previously didn’t have access to reach several people and publicize their products now found an opportunity to do so. Watching the growth and evolution of these apps, multiple companies recognized the gains they could make and started advertising their products or interest by also demanding the assistance of popular content creators and celebrities who were active on these platforms. Advertising for these companies also helped users earn revenue from these platforms. This resulted in monetizing these platforms and revenue has been flowing through it ever since. Social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook have been the frontrunners in this initiative and Snapchat has finally…

Insults were hurled and receipts were pulled in a nasty Twitter battle that went on for two hours. Yes, this is what happened while you were busy planning the perfect April Fools prank. The online fight was no joke, however, and it’s the most recent instance of influencers turning on each other over the company they keep and the insensitive stunts they’ve pulled in the past. YouTubers cancelling each other, go figure. Is that progress or just a different type of performance? On snapchat 😂 https://t.co/7Wz9w9WpR5 — Trisha Paytas (@trishapaytas) March 27, 2021 Snapshade Things started, as they usually do, with a dig at Snapchat. More specifically, a dig at Nikita Dragun’s show, Nikita Unfiltered. Trisha Paytas made fun of the fact that Dragun’s show, for all her bragging, only streams on Snapchat, as opposed to, we guess, streaming on YouTube. Nikita Unfiltered is a docuseries that follows Dragun as she lives her life as a transgender woman. The show sees the influencer search for love, explore her career options,…

The latest generation of Spectacles would enable users to view augmented reality (AR) effects through their glasses without the use of an accompanying smartphone, The Verge reports, and is part of a renewed push into hardware devices by Snap that could also comprise the launch of a camera drone. Snap has popularized AR with its Lenses, a signature feature that transforms selfies and scenes on smartphones with a variety of visual effects. The new Spectacles would appear to bring this capability to a wearable headset. That said, the reported Spectacles will initially target developers and creators rather than consumers, with the intention that developers create Lenses that will ultimately be used by the everyday wearer. The Spectacles evolution was first reported by The Information, which notes that Snap is likely to unveil the product at its Partner Summit developer conference on May 20. The Verge notes that there have been three generations of Spectacles to date, which predominantly serve to capture footage — with subsequent processing and editing being conducted on the Snapchat app. The most recent generation of…
Read moreDetailsSnapchat is reportedly developing a new, fully AR-enabled version of its Spectacles smart glasses, which would be a major advance for the product, and for Snapchat's broader plans with augmented reality. As reported by The Information, Snap's currently developing a more advanced version of Spectacles, which will include in-lens AR displays. As per The Information: "Unlike past models of Snap’s smart glasses though, this version of the product is not meant for the consumer market but is instead aimed at developers and creators. Those groups are already the creative force behind many of the wildly popular AR effects on the Snapchat app for mobile phones, known as lenses. Snap likely hopes the developers will come up with software experiences that can work on the new device, which could be offered to a wider group of customers at some point in the future." So, rather than take on the full development load of AR-enabled glasses and their various offerings alone, Snap is seemingly looking to expand its pool of development resources externally, which could help it take that next step. Given its past development of AR tools and camera-enabled glasses, this likely comes as little surprise. But still, Snapchat has experienced…

Beauty YouTuber and social media star James Charles has faced a number of accusations in recent weeks. In February, a 16-year-old fan alleged in a TikTok video that the YouTuber sent nude pictures of himself before “pressuring” the fan to do the same.
