Corpus Christi Police Department Daniel Verduzco CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx — A former Corpus Christi Police Department officer has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of enticement of a minor following an investigation that began when an Oklahoma mother discovered disturbing messages on her 15-year-old daughter's phone. Daniel Abelardo Verduzco entered a guilty plea on May 16, 2025, to one count of enticement of a minor. The plea was accepted by U.S. District Judge David S. Morales on June 9, 2025. The investigation began on January 8, 2025, when Tulsa Police responded to a concerned mother who had discovered Snapchat messages on her daughter's phone while the teen was hospitalized following a suicide attempt. The mother found messages and photos from someone using the username "Danny" who appeared to be a police officer. According to court documents, the victim (MV1) had lived in Corpus Christi with her mother in 2023 before moving to Oklahoma in Spring 2024. While in Corpus Christi, MV1 had befriended someone named "Danny" whom the family believed was the same age as the victim. A man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Wyandanch, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, June 14. The driver fled the scene without stopping and continued eastbound toward Mount Avenue. The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Major Case Unit. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office has issued an alert for the public's assistance in the chilling case of a sex offender targeting youngsters through Snapchat. Holland Langhorn-Padilla, a 32-year-old male, was arrested on June 11, 2025, following an extensive six-month probe by the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC). The suspect is accused of attempting to sexually exploit a 12-year-old girl by sending her harassing texts, which she got from two friends that he had contacted on Snapchat. According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, Langhorn-Padilla, using the Snapchat handles “noise666” and “n666iser,” tried to lure the underage victim with offerings of vapes and alcohol in exchange for sexual acts. Officials have detailed that Langhorn-Padilla was apprehended in the 6200 block of S. Troy Cir. in Centennial, where he allegedly resisted arrest, adding to the charge of assaulting an investigator. An arrest warrant had been issued before his capture, citing crimes that include Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Internet Luring of a Child, and Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material, among others. DETROIT – Mubasher Riaz, 41, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, was sentenced today to 188 months in prison after having pleaded guilty to charges of coercion and enticement of a minor, announced United States Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr. Gorgon was joined in the announcement by Special Agent in Charge Cheyvoryea Gibson, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Detroit Division. According to court records, in July 2023, local police in Maumee, Ohio, learned that Riaz was messaging a 13-year-old girl, Minor Victim 1 (MV-1) on Snapchat. Communications between Riaz and MV-1 showed that Riaz had requested and received nude images of the minor and that he attempted to gather information about her home with the intent to meet with her to engage in sexual activity.  FBI agents reviewed Riaz’s Snapchat communications and found that Riaz messaged numerous other individuals on Snapchat who identified themselves as minors, some as young as 11 years old. For example, Riaz communicated with Minor Victim 2 (MV-2), who was 13 years old when Riaz contacted her. Riaz drove to MV-2’s foster home and engaged in sexual activity with her in his parked car.
