Mutiny Review | Flickreel

Arriving at the theater for the press screening of Mutiny, the ticket attendant asked what I was there to see. I accidentally said, “Shelter,” confusing it for the other Jason Statham action flick that came out earlier this year. Can you blame me, though? It’s not like Statham is trying especially hard to differentiate one performance from the other. That said, I enjoyed Mutiny more than Shelter, albeit only slightly. Where Shelter was about as generic as Statham movies get, Mutiny is generic… with a few advantages. One of them is Statham, who, despite consistently playing the same character, does his thing well. Statham plays Cole Reed, another stoic tough guy who will inevitably drive a car at some point – even in a movie that primarily takes place on a boat. Cole serves as a bodyguard who’s practically family to his boss, Tibu Campallo (Ramon Tikaram). Statham and Tikaram have a nice chemistry, although it’s apparent from their first scene that Cole’s boss will soon bite the bullet. Cole is set up for his employer’s murder, forcing him to go on the run. Deducing that this conspiracy is connected to Tibu’s shipping business, Cole stows away on a cargo

Bookman: In a twist fit for a Greek epic, Jones could be Jackson’s Achilles heel

by Jay Bookman, Georgia Recorder, August 18, 2026 In much of “The Iliad” – the ancient Greek “prequel” to “The Odyssey” now dominating the summer movie box office – the hero Achilles can be found sulking in his tent outside the walls of Troy. He is bitterly angry at his fellow Greeks, feeling that he has been cheated and disrespected, and thus refuses to fight any longer on their behalf. “You don’t need me? Fine.” Even when the great King Agamemnon begs him to rejoin the battle, telling him that the Greeks are likely to lose without his help, the sulking, prideful Achilles refuses. Achilles, in other words, is exactly like Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, or would be if Jones were the son of a sea nymph and not the heir to the Jones Petroleum Company, and if Jones were the greatest warrior in the ancient world instead of a former walk-on football player at the University of Georgia. Otherwise, though, pretty much the same.  In the weeks since being outbid for the GOP nomination for governor by Rick Jackson, Jones has been sitting on the sidelines, nursing his

Movie Review: Blood Bitch Baby (2024) – Bloodsick Productions Blu-ray – HorrorFuel.com

Dig this one; the Blood Countess herself Elizabeth Bathory (Jessa Jupiter Flux, Murdercise , Onlyfangs ) has survived the centuries and settled down in suburbia! Meanwhile, Jenny (Angel Nicole Bradford, Backwoods Blood Feud , The House That Eats Flesh ) is having a shitty go of things as of late… she’s trapped in an abusive relationship and she’s completely broke. The solution to at least one of those probs comes in the form of a job offer from Bathory her damn self, and the gig really sucks too, as it involves looking after Liz’s insane sister… who lives in a bathtub, eats raw meat, and snarls all of the damn time. The job lasts roughly one second before Bathory works up an arcane boobs n’ blood style bedroom bedazzlement and marks our heroine with a sigil that gives her a taste for human flesh and additionally, at no extra fee, marks her as the vessel for the offspring of the demon king, Asmodeus! At least the job pays well… With Blood Bitch Baby there’s way more to love here besides the title! Let’s start with the cast… Angel Nicole Bradford has a great look… reminiscent of Sissy Spacek with a
