PC and printer maker HP has named John Koller as its interim chief marketing and corporate affairs officer.  Koller has worked at HP since 2022 as the company’s SVP of marketing. How Live Chat Activity Impacts Twitch Discoverability and Ranking | Yonkers Times

Twitch operates as a live-action marketplace where attention is the primary currency. Standing still in a saturated category isn’t just about poor timing; it’s a failure to signal the algorithm that something noteworthy is happening. When a broadcast maintains a high rate of interaction, the Twitch discovery engine prioritizes it within the recommended channels mobile feed. High-velocity engagement serves as a digital lighthouse for the discovery engine. If the chat moves slowly, the stream sinks. Conversely, a flurry of activity suggests a community worth joining. Understanding how these technical metrics translate into front-page placement is the first step toward mastering the competitive broadcast environment of 2026. Photo from Freepik.com How Does Chat Velocity Influence The Twitch Algorithm? The Twitch algorithm functions as a predictive model designed to maximize time on site. It doesn’t just look at how many people are watching, but how many are staying and interacting. Chat velocity, the speed at which messages are sent, is a real-time health check for a stream. When a sudden spike in chat occurs, the platform recognizes that an event is happening. This often results in the stream being bumped higher in the category list. It’s about momentum. Higher visibility leads to

Twitch livestreamer hit by car during charity walk in Indiana – BBC

Twitch streamer hit by car live on camera - 'It felt like slow motion' Isaiah Thomas / Humblezayy An American Twitch streamer who caught the moment he was hit by a car live on camera has told the BBC he was left in shock looking back at the footage. Isaiah Thomas, known online as hmblzayy, had challenged himself to walk more than 3,000 miles (4,800 km), streamed online, from Philadelphia to California to raise money to build a trade school for children who cannot go to college. Thomas said he was walking Route 40 in Richmond, Indiana on Tuesday when a car struck the escort vehicle behind him, which in turn hit him. "It was so fast, but it felt like it was in slow motion; it was like I was just gliding in the air – it was crazy," he said. "I had so many thoughts running through my mind," he told the BBC. "I'm like, I hope this isn't over. I hope that my injuries aren't too bad." "I was just in a bad car accident six months ago, so for me to be able to do this walk, I already had to go through therapy and learn

Where in the (Virtual) World Am I? – Northwestern Magazine

I started playing the online game GeoGuessr in high school but didn’t get serious about it until my junior year at Northwestern. In GeoGuessr you’re dropped into a random virtual location and have to figure out where you are based on Google Street View imagery. During the pandemic, I watched YouTube videos of people who were good at the game and thought, “I should try that.” I studied economics, statistics and MMSS at Northwestern, but geography has always been a side interest. I was on the quiz bowl team and did a lot of competitive trivia, so GeoGuessr felt right up my alley. I started playing competitively and never looked back.  In the game, players can duel one-on-one. The goal is to guess the exact location and get closer than your opponent. You’re awarded points depending on how close you get.  There’s so much to study. It’s not only learning the names of cities and neighborhoods, which I find fun, but there’s also metadata you can learn. You can find out, for example, what color the Google Street View car was at a particular place, or what season it was the last time the
