The full lineup for Winter Music Conference (WMC)’s two-day virtual event has been unveiled with a bevy of keynote speakers and panels! Last month, the Winter Music Conference (WMC) announced its’ return for a virtual 2021 edition May 20-21. The event, which under normal circumstances happens in March during Miami Music Week, was forced to cancel last year due to the pandemic. Now with a promising online summit in a few weeks, WMCV dropped additional details including the full lineup. To make this all possible, the WMCV event is being hosted on Hopsin, an online events platform specializing in connecting people globally through interactive virtual events. WMCV is also joining forces with the Magnetic Agency Group and VRJAM to curate a digital summit focused on rebuilding, rethinking, and innovation. Keynote speakers confirmed for the upcoming two-day event: Pandora Cofounder, Tim Westergren, N.W.A’s founding member, Arabian Prince, Twitch Cofounder, Kevin Lin, Droplabs CEO, Susan Paley, and Raised in Space’s CEO, Zach Katz. Felix "xQc" Lengyel has been the center of a handful of controversies related to the NoPixel GTA Online server. The latest of these has actually caused some issues for another Twitch streamer, LadyHope. During a stream on May 4th, LadyHope's police officer character Lily Pond arrested xQc's character, X. After xQc griped about a lack of evidence in the in-game arrest, LadyHope received hate mail from xQc fans. LadyHope decided to share some of these comments on her stream. However, the hate mail was so bad, she was actually issued a ban from Twitch for "Violent Hate Speech" after it was shared out of context! However, this year will be much different than previous years, with both a digital and in-person convention planned. Twitch has made it easier than ever for copyrighted content to be reported, which should result in more DMCA strikes and even more bans for streamers on the site. DMCA strikes have been a big issue on Twitch for over a year now, with countless streamers getting their account banned for playing copyrighted music or watching videos during broadcasts. Last week, Rachel ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter, one of the biggest streamers in the world, suggested she may pivot away from streaming on YouTube to business and investing due to social media hate and the toxicity that comes with the profession. Political content creator Steven "Destiny" Bonnell is back on Twitch after he was banned for showing sexual content. During a recent broadcast, Destiny had a guest on his stream that claimed to have images pulled from Hunter Biden's hacked computer. Without warning, the guest flashed a picture to viewers depicting a sexual scenario involving Biden and two women. The graphic photo got Destiny banned from Twitch since it went against the platform's Terms of Service.  After the ban, Destiny was quiet silent on social media and fans were unclear when he would return. The Amazon-owned company has been inconsistent with its punishments. In some instances, women who have flashed viewers received three-day suspensions while other streamers who have accidentally shown inappropriate GIFs and were suspended for over a month.  In this case, it was just four days before Destiny was back to streaming on Twitch.
