The streamer was banned from the platform last Monday in a move that left Ziqo confused about what had caused the punishment. Ziqo was told by Twitch he was banned due to using a hateful slur during his stream. While he was confident he had not intentionally used any hateful slurs, Ziqo did suggest that Twitch may have misheard him saying something else and interpreted it as something offensive. Yesterday, Ziqo released a video on his YouTube channel discussing the ban. He shared the platform had failed to provide a specific clip or example for why he had been banned. Following this, popular streamer xQc shared the video and urged Twitch to share a timestamp for when Ziqo had breached the TOS, much like they have done for him in the past. In the video, Ziqo also addressed some of the further issues that this ban is going to cause his stream and career, such as losing the opportunity to present at the Twitch Participation Ceremony due to his account now being in bad standing with the platform. The NFL playoffs are back, and just like last year, Twitch Rivals is mirroring the postseason with some competition of its own. The Twitch Rivals: Streamer Bowl II will take place on Super Bowl week with content creators and NFL players joining forces to play Fortnite for a charity prize pool of $1 million. With 30 teams of trios, the Streamer Bowl will take place on Feb. 4 beginning at 3pm CT, and each group will play six games.  Squads will earn points from a combination of placement and eliminations per game. The team with the most points at the end of six games will be declared the winner and earn $250,000 for their charity.  Second place will get $150,000, and third will earn $100,000 for whatever cause they have. One of Twitch’s most popular streamers Mizkif has reached one million followers on the livestreaming platform. The streamer surpassed the milestone today and doesn’t appear to be slowing down with his channel continuing to grow substantially by the day. While Mizkif has been streaming for several years now, his channel gained a huge spike in momentum with the popularity of Pokémon card pack openings that peaked in late 2020. Mizkif’s passion for the cards and streams opening rare sets that could cost hefty prices drew fans to his stream, helping him break many of his channel’s records. One of these records was broken on Dec. 14, 2020, when Mizkif recorded his most concurrent viewers record while opening a box of Neon Genesis Pokémon cards. Twitch stat tracking site SullyGnome recorded his viewership peak at over 110,000. Mizkif got his start on YouTube making videos inspired by other streamers. But with support from members of the streaming community, he made the seamless transition over to streaming in 2018.

The popular Just Chatting star, Jade-Anh ‘Jadeyanh’ Ngo, broke down in tears and ended her stream early after a shocking phone call from her stalker midway through the broadcast. Samsung, the multinational conglomerate from South Korea, has had a long history tied to the gaming industry. The tech company has even participated in specific marketing events for different popular video games, such as Fortnite when it released skins inspired from the Galaxy Note smartphone line. Now, it appears that Samsung Electronics will be diving even deeper into the competitive gaming scene. This time around, Samsung and Twitch Rivals North America have secured an exclusive deal. For those who are unfamiliar, Twitch Rivals is a series of online tournaments where different streamers have to compete against one another across a variety of titles. The most recent event for this was a duos competition in Call of Duty: Warzone worth $75,000. This partnership between Samsung and Twitch was announced last January 13, 2021, and this collaboration will last the whole year.
