A Twitter user has come up with a new and innovative way to play Pokemon Red. Earlier today, Constantin Liétard, a 3D programmer for Gameloft, announced that followers could now "play" Pokemon Red on Twitter, with his Twitter profile picture acting as a screen and commands inputted by commenting on one of his tweets. Liétard's system operates similarly to the popular Twitch channel Twitch Plays Pokemon, with commands inputted every 15 seconds based on the most popular command chosen by commenters. Players could choose between any of the original Game Boy buttons - Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, Start, and Select.Liétard later restarted the game to add a "save" functionality so that previous frames would be saved for posterity. To date, followers have chosen Squirtle as their Starter Pokemon, but haven't made much progress otherwise. No stranger to drama, influencer Trisha Paytas has apologized to James Charles, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio before claims that she will delete her social media profiles due to toxicity. Nearly 700,000 followers on Twitter, 3.9 million on TikTok and nearly 200,000 on her backup Instagram (her original was deleted), Trisha Paytas boasts an enormous social footprint on the internet. Mitch Jones is an OG IRL streamer on Twitch, having been broadcasting on the site for nigh on nine years. However, his expansive career has been fraught with controversy, as he has received a series of bans throughout his time on the platform for such offenses as reading his chat while driving and showing racist messages on camera. Facepunch Studios has released a new update for Rust, and players should be pretty happy with the results. The developer revealed that the game's January 7th update will add new Twitch drops, a Blueprint wipe, server save backups, increased server capacity, and more. Additionally, the update includes a number of fixes, changes to the game's weather patterns, and the disabling of the Christmas event. While some of these additions won't be terribly exciting for players, they should be helpful for the overall game, and make for a better experience. Following the Fight Night Collection event update, data miners have been digging through the Apex Legends game files for details on upcoming content. New details about the Season 8 collection event, Anniversary, has been found, including new skins and an interesting change to heirlooms. With Apex Legends Season 7 now in its final months, players are looking forward to Season 8. We can expect to see the usual balance changes, game tweaks, bugfixes, and cosmetics. Mike Shinoda is offering to produce fans’ music live on his popular Twitch channel. Explaining the idea behind the gesture, Shinoda said: “For 2021, I wanted to find a way to give back to my amazing community online. I’m looking for vocalists, rappers, and songwriters who need help getting to the next level. “If I find someone great, I’ll produce their track, live on my Twitch channel. There’s no formal contest, just an intention. Monster Hunter Rise is set to release in just a few short months, but there are still a lot of questions left unanswered about the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive. Thankfully, many of those questions could be answered later this week, as Capcom has announced a Monster Hunter Digital Event, scheduled to take place on January 7th at 6 a.m. PST.
