Services include assessment, case management, and an array of therapeutic supports provided in the home and community, or temporary out-of-home placements. We make every effort to provide culturally sensitive, child- and family-centered services, and include the youth and family in all aspects of the service planning and treatment decisions. Although suicide is relatively uncommon in youth and young adults it remains one of the leading causes of preventable death in these age groups. Suicide rates have increased nationally for youth and young adults over the last 15 years and Hawaii is no exception to this trend. So, even though Hawaii’s youth are generally quite healthy, mentally and physically, even a small increase in the suicide rate is concerning which is why we are sharing important resources with the public throughout the year and especially during National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Shoreline: The Paddle Against Plastic, A Greener Future’s documentary exploring plastic pollution in Lake Ontario, has been released by Vimeo and is now available to stream online. The documentary follows Rochelle Byrne, founder of A Greener Future, as she paddles the edge of Lake Ontario and brings awareness to lake pollution from plastics, and how it’s affecting our water systems. During the summer of 2020, Byrne embarked on the 430 km stand-up paddleboard journey along the Lake Ontario shoreline from Kingston to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Fetch subscribers had better cancel any future plans, thanks to a new Australian partnership with Metrological, which will see a whole bunch of apps come to their library. From next month, Fetch will integrate the likes of Acorn TV, iwonder, Vevo, Vimeo, Kidoodle, The Weather Network, hayu, with others to appear in the coming months.
