A 30-year-old Stroud man cried as he was sentenced to 22 months in jail for posting naked photographs of two women on social media. Jake Ede of Bath Road, Rodborough, got hold of risque and explicit photos that the women had intended only their partners to see and put them on Snapchat and Instagram, Gloucester Crown Court was told on Friday (April 16). Ede began sobbing loudly in the dock when the judge told him he would have to go straight to jail. The judge, Recorder Kate Brunner QC, told Ede: “What you did repeatedly was the worst possible use of social media. You hid behind anonymity to torment people who had trusted you. “You used social media to get into the women’s lives in a way which was terrifying for them. “They were terrified by not knowing who was trying to get at them. They felt degraded because of the sexual images that were shared on the internet. LAKEWOOD, Ohio — A Lakewood man who posed as a 15-year-old girl on social media and received explicit photos of a minor before posting them to TikTok, pleaded guilty Monday to the distribution of child pornography, according to a news release from Leonard C Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.Brian Grinnell, 36 of Lakewood, posed as a 15-year-old girl and met a girl who was under 12 years old on Omegle, an online website and mobile application that allows users to interact with strangers, according to the news release.During their communication on the app, Grinnell and the minor started communicating on Snapchat where he told the minor victim to take sexually explicit photos and videos of herself and send them to him over Snapchat.After she felt threatened by Grinnell, the girl unfriended and blocked him on Snapchat.According to the news release, Grinnell found the minor’s friend on TikTok and stated that unless the girl contacted him, he would post a video of her naked on TikTok.Grinnell then posted sexually explicit videos of the minor on TikTok. NAUGATUCK, Conn. — The Borough of Naugatuck has released its report following an independent investigation into racially charged Snapchat messages sent by the police chief's daughter back in January. According to that 40-page report, chief Steven Hunt will not be terminated. Officials say two separate groups reviewed the incident. Investigators say they found no evidence to establish the “just cause” necessary to justify Hunt's termination or to invoke any other discipline. "No Department policies, procedures, rules, or regulations were violated by Chief Hunt," Naugatuck officials wrote. "All Departmental policies contemplate actions taken directly by an employee, and not by an employee’s minor child." The Borough of Naugatuck also said it has fully cooperated with a separate investigation conducted by the NAACP. The incident sparked outrage among the community and students, who led protests in response, demanding accountability.
