My Kids Chat Me On Snapchat – D-Black – DailyGuide Network

D-Black Rapper and entrepreneur D-Black says his children are more like friends to him, and they prefer chatting with him on Snapchat instead of WhatsApp. Speaking on 4Kidz Paradise on Joy Prime on Sunday, the musician opened up about how parenting has changed in the digital age. “My kids are like my friends. It’s interesting how you guys are so different from us in our generation. I talk to them every day and none of them even messages me on WhatsApp. They’re on my Snapchat, they talk to me on Snapchat,” he said. D-Black admitted he was surprised by how quickly they respond on the social media app compared to traditional messaging platforms. “It was very surprising to realise that when I text them on WhatsApp, they would reply the next day, but when I text them on Snapchat, they would reply instantly,” he stated. The rapper also reflected on how his relationship with his children is different from what he experienced growing up, especially when it comes to music. “Growing up, I didn’t have a common musician with my mum and dad. They would probably like Amakye Dede and I would be talking about Reggie Rockstone,” he explained. According

Florida AG Announced Arrest, Extradition of Snapchat, Roblox Child Predator

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrest and extradition of a Snapchat and Roblox predator. This investigation was a collaborative effort between the Office of Statewide Prosecution, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the Green Cove Springs Police Department (GCSPD) in Clay County. Investigators found that 29-year-old Justin Adkins first interacted with the victim in 2024 on Fortnite, an online battle royale game popular among children. The two chatted on the gaming platform, exchanged phone numbers, and began communicating on Snapchat, a popular mobile messaging app primarily used for sharing photos and videos (“snaps”) that disappear after being viewed. The Florida Attorney General’s office stated that Adkins convinced the victim that they were in a romantic relationship, despite knowing the victim’s age. He coerced the victim into creating and sending hundreds of pornographic pictures and videos. Additionally, Adkins was sending adult pornographic material to the victim with instructions to recreate it, according to the Florida AG’s office. Adkins manipulated the victim by purchasing gifts, including a new iPhone, with which he wanted the victim to produce higher-quality child sexual abuse material. He also sent V-bucks, the currency in Fortnite, and Robux, the currency in Roblox. Roblox is

This Cold Snap has Filled the Arcata House Partnership’s Extreme Weather Shelter to Capacity

A homeless person. File photo by Andrew Goff. Homeless services have been pushed to the brink during this week’s cold snap, but funding set aside by Arcata in November is saving lives.  An extreme weather shelter run by the Arcata House Partnership has been filled to capacity during the last few days, AHP’s executive director Darlene Spoor told the Outpost today. All 80 rooms in an Arcata-area motel are being used; AHP staff had to send a few people who needed a room to other providers.  AHP has only been able to provide extreme weather shelter housing for around 20 people at a time for 10 nights every season during the last decade, but this shelter is being funded by $217,000 from several state lawsuits brought against opioid distributors and manufacturers. Arcata’s city council set aside their portion of the settlement back in November for homeless services. Spoor said there may be increased interest this year because shelter residents get a private room, something AHP hasn’t been able to offer in the past. She said AHP is indebted to the city for funding this project. Spoor said AHP’s staff is working all-out, cooking three meals a day for 80 people

Elburn man sentenced for sexual exploitation of children – Chicago Tribune

An Elburn man has been sentenced by a federal judge in Chicago to 37 years in prison for sexually exploiting nearly 100 children he communicated with on social media, according to a press release on Wednesday from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Illinois. Shaun Healy, 45, used Snapchat to contact and persuade young girls to create and send him sexually explicit images and videos of themselves, often posing as a young girl himself to gain the girls’ trust and induce them to produce the material, the press release said. Healy apparently provided graphic, step-by-step instructions to them, including the type of explicit conduct they should engage in and how to record and send it to him, the press release said, and threatened to publish the images and videos they sent him if they didn’t produce and send him even more such materials. In December 2022, Healy was arrested at his home in Elburn, the press release from the Northern District said, and his cellphone was searched. Law enforcement found a password-protected album on the phone containing dozens of folders of children that Healy had stored from his Snapchat account, each containing the child’s Snapchat username, image

Louvre Deploys Snapchat AR Technology To Reveal Hidden Details In Six Iconic Works

The Musée du Louvre and Snapchat have launched “The Incredible Unknowns of the Louvre,” a free augmented reality (AR) experience featuring six works from the museum’s collection. The initiative, which began on February 18, marks the second major collaboration between the two organizations following a 2023 pilot focused on ancient Egyptian antiquities. How It Works Visitors activate each AR experience by scanning a QR code on the artwork’s label, opening a digital layer accessible directly on their smartphone. Snap’s AR Studio Paris developed the experiences in collaboration with Louvre curators, drawing on archival materials and scholarly references. The six works covered span multiple departments and historical periods: the Code of Hammurabi, the Bust of Akhenaten, the Portrait of Anne of Cleves, the Kore of Samos, the Four Captives, and Rustic Figulines.  The AR overlays allow visitors to view reconstructed colors and forms that have deteriorated over time, decode artistic techniques, and surface contextual information embedded in the works. Global Accessibility Beyond the museum walls, Snap and the Louvre are offering a separate experience accessible to Snapchat users worldwide. Available through the app’s Lens carousel or by scanning banners installed around the museum, the experience reveals animated marble blocks in 3D
